ACROSS POLAND PLAYING CHESS 2011

IV CHESS TOURNAMENT – ‘KARKONOSZE’ – KARPACZ 20 – 27.02.2011
I. PURPOSE OF THE TOURNAMENT
- To increase the popularization of chess among children , adolescents and adults.
- To improve chess qualifications – the participants can attend a free chess training seminar and be taught by leading Polish chess coaches.( trainers of multiple chess chempions in Poland – STILON – Gorzow Wlk)
- To visit some popular places - well known for their therapeutic and climate properties such as Karpacz 20-27.02.2011; Międzyzdroje 30.04.-07.05.2011; Szklarska Poręba 28.05.-4.06.2011; Zakopane 5-12.11.2011

V. TOURNAMENT SYSTEM
The chess players will be devided into 2 groups :
Group A – players with FIDE rank and PZSzach rank : min. 1800 – tournament submitted to FIDE
Group B – „Pierwszy krok do mistrzostwa” (‘ The first step to championship’) – players with PZSzach. rank : max. 1600
The games will be played on the nine-round tournament. Single rounds start at 9.00 and finished approximately at 2 .00pm.
That time is set up this way to give the palyers the chance to admire the beautiful vista and to enjoy the local attractions .
Game time : 90 min + 30 sec for a single move(tempo). Six parts may be seen online.

Ranking 1801 – 2000: 1 st place - 200,00; 2 nd place – 100,00;
Ranking 1601 – 1800: 1 st place - 200,00; 2 nd place – 100,00;
Ranking 1600 and less:1 st place - 200,00; 2 nd place – 100,00;
The prizes are not combined
Group B
Cups, diplomas and other gifts . Groups aged : 8, 10,12, 14 and older.
The players who gain the highest score in the whole tournament (Karpacz, Międzyzdroje, Szklarska Poręba, Zakopane) win additional prizes.(if the players have the same score ,the crusial factor is the number of games won in all tournaments or the highest rank gained in a single tournament)
1 st place – free participation in 3 chosen events of the tournament „Z Szachami przez Polskę 2012”
2 nd place – free participation in 2 chosen events of the tournament Z Szachami przez Polskę 2012”
3 rd place – free participation in 1 chosen event of the tournament „Z Szachami przez Polskę 2012”
VII . ACCOMMODATION
‘Mieszko’ hotel with catering
490 PLN per person (7 daysx 70 zł.) – 2 – 4 bed rooms
630 PLN per person (7 days x 90 zł.) – 1-bed rooms.. All bedrooms en suite . TV included.
REGISTRATION FEE
Open A: GM, WGM - free of charge
IM, WIM – 50 zł.
Others – 100 zł.
Open B: 60 zł
Apart from the entrance fee the participants will be charged for classification and rating.(current PZSzach regulations) O

IX. FINAL REMARKS

The players under age must be under the care of adults

Karpacz City is well known in Poland for its tourist attractions such as mountain climbing and hiking, ‘Sniezka’ peak – 1602 m above sea level, ‘Wang’ Temple and others.
